Planning: Location Planning

Location is important when planning to film, this is because the location used needs to be the right size and right lighting where the room isn't too dark or too light. Just turning up and filming at a location means that the location could be completely different and not what is needed in the film. The location has to be right or the film wont be as good a it could be. The room needs to include what is needed and the people who maybe in the room either need to go where the filming isn't taking place or I need to use another room where no one is.

This corridor could be used as it has wide space which would be helpful when filming the tracking shot. It leads off to a range of rooms which could be used in my project. However I need to make sure that the 6 form corridor is quiet and no one is in the scene who isn't meant to be. This makes the scene harder to film with and the planning to film will need to planned detailed.
This table and chairs can be used as its set out to one chair opposite another which is needed in the scene the room is a good size to film in and also film at different angles. The problem is the scene is in a 6 form where people could be studying so I will have to film when no one is in the room this will take alot of planning. The lighting should be fine as I can pull the blinds down to block out the light.
This is a wide corridor which is a good location however it can get busy with people using it while filming. It can be used for the tracking shot of someone walking due to the wide space however it can be quite loud so this would be hard to film with, so again this will need planning.
This door is perfect to use in my film as its see through so in my film i can see the person through it which is helpful. Although it is perfect it will mean I will have to make sure no one is in there to film otherwise I may have to use another classroom to film.

These pictures of the outside of my school which is want i need in my film its brilliant for the establishing shot at the beginning. It sets the scene so the audience knows where the film is taking place. I will have to make sure that the weather isn't raining as it may make my film look dull and harder to film so it will be better if it is sunny as it will be easier to film.
This would be a bad location as the stairs in always used so people would be using them constantly so filming would be interrupted. Also the tracking shot of the person walking would be harder to do. So I wouldn't use this location.
